Lifeplans - Part Two

Chapter 4

I looked both ways down the alley to make sure no one was there. There have been so many cases of people getting kidnapped in alleys, so it always kind of creeps me out, especially at night. I kept the door open to the office building so I wouldn’t get locked out because everyone was basically gone and I would have a bad time having to get back in. I walked over to the trash can, threw the trash in, and then walked further to the recycling cans and threw the box of papers in. I saw a circle of trashcans further and then heard a moaning and a loud burp come from behind them. I froze and the hair on the back of my neck crawled. I started to slowly walk over and asked, “Who’s there?” No answer. Around a minute later, another moan, and then the sound of a falling trashcan, and someone rummaging through it. Another hobo….I thought. I couldn’t just leave so I walked slowly and carefully over to the trashcans and peeked behind them.
A hobo looked out from behind them, eating a chicken wing. It was a girl hobo, that looked just as old as Megan and I. She had long black hair, and blue eyes. The distinct thing about her was she was wearing a hat - just like the Hobo Hat Hayley made. I looked again and realized that the hobo looked a lot like Hayley. “Spare some change?” the hobo said. “What’s your name?” I said, giving her 5 dollars. “Hayley” she responded. My jaw dropped. “HAYLEY?” I said, very surprised. “Hayley Frazier? Hayley, from Franklin Middle?” I said, seeming happy. Hayley looked at me. “How do you know who I am? That’s me…..but where do I know you from? You look a but familiar…..” she trailed off, munching on another chicken wing. “I am Amy….I mean, Annie….your best friend from Middle School! Remember….I recognized you from your Hobo Hat!” I said, and started to laugh. Hayley jumped up and her jaw dropped. “Annie?” She said, and hugged me. I laughed. “Yup, it’s me!” I said, and looked at her. “But, how in the world did you get like this?” I said, seeming spellbound. “I was working for a Computer Graphics Company as an accountant. But the place didn’t really make it and closed down while I was in college, and somehow my computer was hacked, and so was my bank account, and I went completely bankrupt and lost everything. I lost my apartment, and Tyler was living with me, so he’s just like me….I wonder where he went. He should be happy to see you.” Hayley said. “Megan’s with me too…this is so weird! I meet up with 3 old friends in one day - earlier, I found Dany, he has a case with me that he came in with because I am a lawyer, and then I had to have a conference with Julie’s teacher. Julie is my 8 year old daughter. Megan was her teacher. And, now, I found you!” I said, laughing. “If you want, you can come live with me for awhile. Plenty of room in my house. It’s not too far from here but it’s not in the city. Tyler can come too, you can come over tonight, if you want!” I said, enthusiastically, looking around, wondering what Megan was thinking. “That would be awesome! And you found Megan, too?” Hayley looked around. “Yeah, she’s up in my office! You can see her too - she’s coming over as well!” I said. Hayley walked around, calling Tyler’s name. “I don’t know where he is, he may be out of town, he goes to a lot of other places. Maybe we can look for him tomorrow, or something.” Hayley said. “Sure! I would love to meet up with him too! I have some things to take care of tomorrow - along with Dany’s case - and Megan is going to be there. You can stay at my house as long as you want - my husband shouldn’t care - and there’s a spare room. We can go shopping tomorrow too and get you a lot of new stuff and we can all get our hair done and all!” I said. “This is going to be awesome!” Hayley seemed really happy. So was I!
We walked up the stairs to my office and I unlocked the door. Megan greeted me. “WHERE WERE YOU--- AAH A HOBO!” she yelled. “Megan, QUIET DOWN! There’s still people here…..and this isn’t a hobo, this is Hayley!” I said, looking at Megan and Hayley. Megan stared. “Hayley Hobo Hat?” she said. Hayley took off her hat. “Yup, it’s me, Hayley, from Cheerleading and Annie’s best friend, the only Hayley Hobo!” Hayley said, staring at Megan and laughed. “Hayley gets to stay with me for awhile until we can get her a job and an apartment. Tomorrow - I am going to try and make Dany’s case a bit later so we can all go shopping since it’s Saturday and no school for work - and I don’t have any cases tomorrow except Dany’s. He said any time tomorrow is going to be fine so we can all go. How does that sound?” I looked at both of them. “AWESOME! I don’t have anything to do tomorrow!” Megan said. “Hayley, you get to come too?” Megan asked. “Yup! I certainly don’t have much to do! We can find Tyler too tomorrow if we have time.” Hayley said. “This is going to be really fun!” I said. “I have an idea of also what we can do tomorrow….” Megan said, looking thoughtful.

Chapter 5

“Ok, cool!” I said, picking up my things. “I think it’s about time we go home. Megan, you can check out my house today, too.” I said, looking at my watch. It was around 8. “Yay! I can’t wait to see your house! Is it a mansion?” Megan jumped up and down. “Sort of….” I said, picking up Dany’s files and putting all of my other things away. I walked out the door and locked it, and walked down the stairs with Megan and Hayley. We got to my Mustang, and Hayley stared at it. “Wow…..” she said. “You must be rich, right?” Hayley gleamed. “Sort of….” I said. Hayley and Megan jumped in the back, and I drove off, and put on my My Chemical Romance CD, and we all sung to Welcome To The Black Parade.
We got to my house by the lake, and Hayley and Megan jumped out. “Wow….and I get to stay here for awhile!” Hayley said, staring. “I want to stay here too!” Megan said. “I wish you could, Megan, but it would be too many people, and my husband may get mad…” I trailed off. “You’re married?” Hayley said. “Yeah, only have been for around 3 years. Julie was adopted last year. She’s really sweet.” I said, opening the door. Megan was jumping up and down and Hayley looked like a hobo. “Oh hi sweetie--” Ryan greeted me and then stared at Megan and Hayley. “I won’t ask…” he said, looking away and seemed surprised. Hayley glanced over and then said, “Can I take a shower?” she looked around at the house. “Sure! I can give you a tour after!” I said, and handed her a towel from the closet. “The bathroom’s up on the second floor to the right.” I said, pointing. “Thanks, I just don’t want to be seen like a hobo” Hayley said, laughing. I went upstairs with Hayley and Megan and got her a robe and some shampoo and soap. “Thankies!” Hayley said, and ran to the bathroom. “We can get our hair done and all, tomorrow” I said to Hayley. “Cool! Yay! Thanks!” Hayley said, and closed the door. Megan looked around, as Julie walked out of her room and looked at Megan. “Hi!” she said to Megan. “Hi Julie!” Megan said. “Hi Julie! If someone comes out of the bathroom, that’s Hayley, don’t worry, she’s not a burglar, that’s Hayley, my best friend!” I said, smiling. She bolted down the stairs. “COOKIES ARE BAKING!” she yelled up the stairs. “YAY, COOKIES!” Megan said, screaming. “YUMMY!” she yelled again. “Let’s go take a tour!” I said, grabbing her arm. I walked into the dining room and kitchen. The house looked a lot like Skye’s old house. “Wow….you are rich!” Megan yelped. “Not really!” I said, laughing. I put Hayley’s stuff aside and walked outside. “I wish there was a pool outside here…..” I said, pointing to a nice spot in the backyard. “Ooh you should!” Megan said. We ran back upstairs and looked around. Megan looked at her watch. “Grr….I have to go! I will see you tomorrow at - what time will be good?” Megan said, looking around. “I will call you at around 10 or so once I call Dany to get the case set up. I will assign the time around 7 or so, so we can get ready and get our hair done and all and go shopping and you can wait in the lobby - but I am still pondering what I will say to him. Maybe I should just put a picture of me when I was 13 up on my desk….he’ll recognize me. “Yeah!” Megan said. “I can’t wait to see you tomorrow!” she said, handing me a piece of paper. “That’s my number. Call me anytime!” she said, walking down the stairs. “Thanks, see you tomorrow, bye!” I said. “Bye-bye!” she yelled back.
I walked to my room as Hayley stepped out. She stared for like 10 seconds and then smiled. “I am not stinky no more!” she said, laughing. “Yay!” I said, falling over. I walked over and handed her a nightgown and walked her to her room. I turned on the light. “This is the guest room!” I said. Hayley smiled. “You are awesome! She said. “I am tired now, I can’t wait to go shopping in the morning again!” Hayley said, brushing her hair. “Ok, goodnight!” I said. “Good night!” Hayley yelled back. Ryan grabbed his coat at the door. “I will be back in a few hours, need to go get some paperwork at my office! Bye!” he said. “Ok! Bye!” I said. I walked downstairs with Julie. “Can we play DDR for awhile?” she said. “Sure!” I said. I got out the mat. “Want to go first?” I asked. “Ok!” she said, searching through the list of songs and choosing Butterfly. She was able to get an A, and I then went and chose a song. “Good job!” I said, searching through the list and found Camisado. I was able to get an A too, because I had been practicing. We played DDR until 12, and then went to bed. “Good night!” I yelled down the hallway to Julie. “Good night!” she said back. I walked into my room, brushed my teeth, and got out all of Dany’s files and put them by my bedside. I turned off the light, and started to think all about what happened today and what I may be in for tomorrow.

Chapter 6

I woke up to a loud ringing of the phone. “Grr….” I said, trailing off, and reaching for the phone on the table next to me. I yawned, and then answered it. “Hello?” I said tiredly. “Hi, this is Dany, I was wondering what time would be good for me to come in with my case at.” he said. My eyes shot open. “Oh, hi!” I said, smiling. “Would later around 6 be good for you?” I said. “Sure! I will be there, bye!” he said. “Bye!” I said, hanging up. Still smiling, I looked at the clock. 8:00! I yawned, and didn’t seem as tired so I grabbed the post-it that Megan gave me with her number on it and called. It rung 2 times until someone moaned like a monster on the other end, and said tiredly, “Who the hell is this….?” I stared at the phone and was like, “Err, Megan, is that you?” I said, with a weird look on my face. “OH omg Annie…..sorry! I was way tired there!” Megan said, seeming a lot more awake then before. “Can we go shopping now?” Megan said, excitedly. “Ok!” I said. “I will pick you up at around 9, ok?” I said, getting out a few things. “Ok! See you then, and I gave you directions to my house as well! Bye!” Megan said. “Yup, I know where it is, bye!” I said, hanging up, and then running to get ready.
I drove to Megan’s house, which was only a few houses down from the school. Megan was already waiting, and combing her hair. “Hi!” she said, getting in. I had ‘Teenagers’ by My Chemical Romance playing in my car and she laughed. “This song is so funny!” she said. “I love this song!” I said back, driving off. “Where do you want to go shopping?” Megan said, looking through a few things she brought. “I am not sure….they now have a Hot Topic for adults and I love that store, so why don’t we go there?” I said, getting on the freeway to the mall. “Ok! I didn’t know they had a Hot Topic for adults! Yay Emo Elmo!” she said, laughing. “I actually got one of those awhile back, I still should have it!” I said. “OMG you got EMO ELMO?” she said ecstatically. “Yup! I still have it….somewhere….” I said, thinking. Megan laughed as I pulled into the parking lot of the mall. We both jumped out of the car and I locked it. “You want Japanese food after?” I asked Megan. “Ok, yummy! YAY JAPANESE!” she said. We both walked inside and up to Hot Topic. I picked out a long backless black dress when we got there. “I like that!” Megan said. She walked over to the T-shirts section and then gasped. “Come look at this!” she said, seeming happy. I walked over and looked. “It’s a DOCTOR’S UNIFORM!” I said, grabbing it. It had the white coat and pants and all! “I must try this on!” I said. Megan finally looked around and said, “Where’s Hayley?” I yawned and then told her. “She was too tired to get up when I was getting ready, so we were going to get her after we go shopping and get our hair done, and I told her I would get her a few things.” I said, walking to the dressing room with Megan to try on the black dress. “Oh, ok! I wonder what I should get done to my hair….” she trailed off, walking into another dressing room. “Megan, think PINK!” I said. “PINK HAIR!” she squealed. “I have always wanted pink hair!” she said happily. “Well, today, you can get pink hair!” I said. I tried on the outfit. It looked great! Megan walked out and so did I with our old clothes. We both looked perfect! We paid at the cash register and out our old clothes in a bag, and grabbed some outfits with Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco for Hayley that be bought as well.
We walked down to the hair salon. It was crowded but two people were there to do our hair. I walked over and sat in the chair. “Hi, could you do my hair with red and blonde highlights? I said. “Sure thing!” she replied.  She began to do my hair and then the other person who was doing Megan’s hair took out a large tube of pink bleach and started to do hers. After an hour or so, we both had our hair washed, and I had my hair washed and straightened and Megan had hers curled. Once we were done, I looked at mine. My hair looked so cool! Megan walked over wither her pink, short, curly hair. “SHUICHI!” she said, happily. “I love your hair!” I replied. “I love yours too!” she said. We both paid for the cost of our hair, and walked and picked up some Japanese chicken. It was 4:30 by then. We ate fast, and got back to my office. “It would be best if you waited out here, Megan, because no one but me and the person with the case should be in the office when I have a case….and if they saw you were in there, I would be in huge trouble with my boss.” I said. “Ok! Just after, I want to see him again too and what he looks like!” Megan said, playing with her hair. “Ok! I don’t think it will take that long….and I have a plan.” I said. “Cool!” Megan said, as I walked into  my office. It was 5:30 already, and I looked through a few files that I had and set Dany’s files on the desk. I put a picture of me when I was 13 in my desk drawer, and then I turned on my laptop to sort a few things out. About a half hour later, I heard a knock on my office door as Dany walked in.
